Question #5:

Life Question. Am I over exaggerating?

I've been with my man for almost 4 years. I love him. We have been through so much. Our relationship started off great. I had high expectations then things started to get rocky. I always wanted to marry him and move in with him, but he was hesitant. We would have deep discussions about things that I wanted that he wasn't ready to give, but he would say give it time. He was in a motor cycle accident and it was bad. While in the hospital he proposed to me, he said because he was so happy i was still by his side after everything and he didn't want to lose me.He eventually lost his lower leg. So now we live together and we are due to get married soon. And now I'm scared. I'm thinking of some of the things he said he was concerned about like the age difference he is 12 years older than I am. He has 3 kids already i have none. He doesn't have a lot of money. He does have comfortable nice lil home. Even though I'm getting everything that i always wanted and back then I said none of those things mattered to me, I'm now having worries. Is this cold feet? My cousin came over and she was talking about going to parties and expensive cruises with guys. maybe that is why I'm feeling this way. I'm I tripping out??

Question #6:

Furnace (heater) stops working, resets and works again?

We have a furnace that was new when we bought our house 4 years ago. In the past 4 months (winter) it has been acting strange. It randomly stops working, but you can hear a motor cycling on for four seconds, off for one, and on again over and over. When this happens we turn it off at the thermostat, and after a random period of time try it again and it works. We were told this might be due to water getting into our exhaust vent (from rain) but it also happens when it's not raining. No one seems to know what the problem is, and of course when the servicemen are here it works fine. Any ideas?

Question #7:

What octane fuel to use for yamaha YZF r15?

I have recently bought a yamaha r15 and came to know that i can use high octane fuel for it. It has a compression ratio of 10.4:1 which means that i can safely use Speed 97, right?

Currently I use HP power. What is the octane rating for hp power? should I switch to speed/xtra premium. Can I use speed 97? One more concern of mine is the availability of these high octane fuels. I currently stay in Bangalore and love going on road trips. However changing fuel isn't exactly recommended I guess. So I was wondering which fuel to use for my motor cycle.

Question #8:

Small motorcycle on freeway bike lane?

Ok, so i have a honda c70 with 72cc. Im not sure if it is a scooter because it does not have a floorboard. Its under 125cc so its not a motorcycle, and it also says that it is a motor-driven cycle which i cant seem to find laws for. Well anyways, there is a bike lane on the freeway here in california, and im sure that although it can go 60mph on full throttle, its not freeway legal, and its bad for the engine anyways. So, can i ride on the class III bike lane on the freeway?

Question #12:

Is my dishwasher fixable or dead?

Before going to bed last night I started the dish washing cycle. When I woke up this morning the washer motor was still going. I opened it to find it dry and the dishes had not been rinsed (there were a lot of soap spots and residue on them). There was a puff of steam when I opened the door, but I can't say the dishes were hot.

The washer is about three years old. A nofrills Fridgedair brand.

Should I take a chance and call a repair man or just buy a new one. I don't have extra money lying about and would like to be wise with it.

It wouldn't have to be some big cruiser. I would just need a 450cc to 850cc size bike for around town, probably a dual sport or motard style bike.

Question #17:

Simple physics question (momentum): 10points!?

Ok, my physics teacher gave us this sheet of questions about momentum and stuff, he also gave us answers. But i think his answer is wrong.

Ok, A motor cycle of mass 140kg is travelling at 60km/h South and collides with a solid wall. The motorcycle crumples and rebounds at 2m/s. Calculate:
a) the total momentum before the collision
b) the total momentum after the collision

those two i got right
a) 2330 Ns South
b) 280Ns North

but c) The impulse of the collision:
I got wrong (here is my working):

Change in momentum (impulse) = Pfinal - Pinitial
impulse = 280 North - 2330 South
= +280 - - 2330
= +2610
= 2610 Ns North

But the answer said it was:
impulse = 2050 Ns North

i know how he got that answer but i think it's wrong.

Question #19:

I recently rebuilt my 350 GM boat motor. Motor turns over slowly when hitting the key.?

I recently rebuilt my starboard side motor. It is a GM 350 std rotation. When I turn over the motor with the old starter, the motor cranks slowly on 2 fully charged brand new deep cycle marine batteries. She tries to sputter but just cant quite get there. Everything is correct and new, timing, batteries, carburetor, everything. The block is a 1980 and with no plugs I can freely spin it by hand from the crank bolt. The starter is the only thing i am trying to re-use the boat sat for a 9 yrs and I was impressed to see it turn over. I rebuilt it because it had water in the oil. Is it possible that even though the starter works, it could have a corroded connection inside? Or maybe some rusted bearings? Took it to autozone but they didnt test the load, they just hooked it up on their bench with power and said yep it turns. Any help would be appreciate as the other starter spins in reverse and I am unable to use it. Thanks. 1980 Chevy 350 marine 270 h.p.

Question #20:

Is a 2 stage Variable speed furnace worth the investment?

I'm asking a question that I already know the answer to. When I had this question a while back I wasn't able to get a good answer. This should help someone trying to decide.

I installed a 2 stage Goodman 95% variable speed furnace. (Goodman sometimes gets a bad name because there products are available to the general public quite easily and people make costly mistakes. Even well known company's take short cuts and make mistakes. A two stage furnace lets the blower run under far less load making the variable speed blower that much more cost efficient. Variable speed motors cost far less to operate under minimal loads. Electric savings could range from 30-90% but don't expect to see 90%. Average person saves in the range of 10-15 dollars a month. Remember the savings continue all year if you have central air and could even save you a little more in the summer. When the heater runs in single stage (low output) you won't even know it's on. Very quite. It will run for longer periods of time but since it doesn't cycle on and off it makes both the electric and gas usage lower. It also puts less wear on the unit. That's why they have better warranty's. I'm saving no less than 20% on my gas bills. I was using a 80% furnace which was 4 years old. I figure that I will save no less than $350 a year. Some gas company's offer a $300 rebate to install a furnace over 90% efficient. Pay the extra money now. You'll get all your money back in a couple of years.
