Question #6:

What Scooter or motorbike shall I get?

I know I either want a Honda or Yamaha, but would prefer a Honda, its just to get to college and back, it will need to be 125cc and I'm just after something that's cheap to run and something that's really reliable, and I have a budget of about £2500 but I don't mind weather its new or second hand Thanks

Question #7:

What kind of Vespa/electric scooter should I get?

So I wanted to buy an electric scooter/vepsa for my ~4 mile commute through the city 4 days of the week. Problem is, I don't know what to be looking for. I want to stay pretty cheap, like I'm definately not looking for one of those newer $3,000 2007 Vespas posted all over craigslist. I want an older one because all the newer Vespa styles suck. MAybe its not even a Vespa I'm looking for, maybe just some type of scooter. Just one that'll do ~40 mph or less and is street legal.

For instance the following one looks dumb as hell and is pretty expensive:

I was thinking more like this but thats still pretty dumb. Something... boxier and not as "sleek", this sleek style is just dumb:

THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE OF THESE: Click Here

Question #8:

Which 125cc motorbike should I buy?

I am looking to buy a second hand 125 motorbike, to use after I pass my CBT.
I want to spend under 1k
Not to fussed by looks, I'm looking for: fuel economy, decent speed (for a 125) and cheap insurance
l'd also like it to be motorbike made by one of the more reputable companies i.e. Honda
Any suggestions, ideas of what bike to get, or even a bike you've seen for sale would be really helpful.

PS I live in Manchester if thats any help

Question #10:

Should I get a 125cc bike or a car? UK answers only please?

I would prefer a car, but am willing to settle for a motorbike because of the ridiculous insurance prices nowadays for a car. I'm almost 17 and living in the UK, but I was wondering if it's true that for the first 2 years of driving a 125cc bike it builds up your no claims for a car? What would work out cheaper for me on the long run?

Question #11:

Why don't more people ride motorbikes?

There are a lot of potential benefits to riding motorycles, they are cheaper to buy, run and insure. They have smaller engines and are more efficient using less petrol and creating fewer emissions. They take up less room on the road and when parked, reducing congestion and freeing up parking space. But despite all this the downsides to motorcycling keep alot of potential riders off the road. What are the strongest reasons and why?

$2500 for this bike is cheap for a bike like this…. You would be spending around 4000 – 5000 on a bike like this
Everything on it is aftermarket. Got some other after market parts for it that’s included in the sale worth at $350 you can put them on the bike if you wish….
You can sell it and make a profit on it if you want….or keep it for your self

Question #14:

need a cheap multimeter where can i get one from?

i need to do some tests on my motorbike... i need something that will give out a small amount of power and show polarity, need something cheap and sells it in a big store so i could get it tomorrow thankyou

Question #15:

What would be a good1st Motorbike for me?

Well ill tell you the story behind it.. (Skip to bottom to just hear the important parts)

I currently have a 1995 Peugeot 106 (1100cc) and the insurance is up after for renewal, Ive had my drivers licence for 1 year. The cheapest quote ive got is £1500 (i had a quote for £31,000!) with no crashes or claims, which is too high when im going to university, having to pay to park (£30/week!) etc etc, i would rather have a bike.

I like the look of the Supersports and aim to pay ~£1200 but would happily pay alot more, ive seen a great 2008 Honda CBR125 for £1800 that i wouldnt mind having. The Insurance for me would be £450 which is alot cheaper.

The engine size isnt relevant really, 125 or larger, as i would use a friends bike to learn, but if i got a 125 i would usr that, or if its larger the bike untill i pass, which shouldn't take long as i know road safety etc from my drivers licence.

So the man use would be to go from Durham to Newcastle on a weekly basis on the M1. Im 5Ft 6Inch, so a huge 600cc+ would be to much for me XD even after a few years.

So overall..
Main use will be on the M1, but town aswell.
£2000 Absolute Maximum for Bike
£500 for insurance
SuperSport style
Any cc, but suitable for a 18 year old who is 5"6
Will own this bike for over 3 years.

P.S thank you for reading, i know i blabbered on abit, i just wanted to describe as much as possible so you can make a good reply :)
In case its not clear, i dont have a bikers licence yet, but it wont take long
extra part...

I havent passed my test yet, and i did say most of it will be on the M1, but of course i have till the end of September before i need to use the M1, at which point ill have a full licence,

Sorry for being confusing lol
Just for information purposes about size compared to insurance.

Honda CBR 400 RR (1988) = £390 (12Mo.)

Honda CBR600 (1997) = £800

And a 125 is under £350

Question #16:

£2000, full license, Age:21 what motorbike?

Hi I'd like some good advice on what motorbike to look for with my budget.
Good starter bikes.
Cheap insurance.
Reliable.
My only constraints are: £2000 for the bike, no more than £500 for insurance/yr and I'd like a 400c or higher as the 125s just don't cut it. It can be used too. Only experienced riders answer please : D

Question #17:

Which bike-to-bike motorbike intercom?

Do you have experience with cheap motorbike intercoms? It only needs to be functional, e.g. to say "fancy a tea?" "take the next right" "where did you go?!" etc - I'm not fussed about crystal clear quality as I'm not a chatty rider (so no need for bluetooth etc). Most use will be at speeds up to 70mph as my girlfriend rides a 125cc motorbike so it doesn't need to handle triple digit speeds.

The market seems to be flooded with Cobra, eg Cobra MT600, but are these any good? What other budget makes can you recommend? Which are a waste of money?
