Question #1:
looking for a 50cc streetbike. any ideas?
i lost my license due to failing eyesight.i am looking for a 50cc street legal motorcycle, something designed like the pagsta mini or tank mini 50. i see alot of chinese made ones, but cant find anyone who sells them retail, you have to become a dealer.i would even be interested in a sport bike style like the aprillia rs50. it just has to meet the guidelines as considered a moped. lets face it, scooters are just ugly. i only need it to travel a few miles and would rather walk than to be seen on a scooter.i have even thought about buying a honda rebel and putting a 50cc motor on it i live in virginia and would like help finding a bike and or a dealer near here. any help would be appreciated.Question #2:
Help! Concerns over my brand new 2010 Ninja 250R?
Hi, I started riding motorcycles a couple of months ago. I took the MSF class, passed and got my license, and bought a brand new 2010 Ninja 250.I've been riding for about a month now with 450 miles on the odometer.
So I have a few questions about the bike.
1) I'm scheduled for my first service at a local kawasaki dealer next friday and I'm a little confused as to how many miles I'm supposed to ride. Should I have my service done at 500 miles? Owners manual says 600 miles.
2) My idle speed bounces around. I tried adjusting the idle speed but even then, there's still some bouncing around. The idle only moves around +/- 100 RPM. My regular idle is at 1500 RPM. One time though when I was at the stoplight, the idle was at 2000 RPM but later went down to 1500.
Is it fairly common for new bikes to have unstable RPM. Is it because of the break-in oil?
3) My choke lever is "loose?" Imagine a choke lever split into 1/5. The first 4/5 of my choke does nothing. Only when I have it in that last 5th sector does the engine rise up to speed. Is this normal?
This is my first bike so again, I'm not sure if this is the way it's supposed to work.
Ok, that's about all the questions I have for now. If someone that knows about motorcycles well, and can answer these questions for me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Question #3:
Filled out finance application for motorcycle......?
Well, I filled out the finance application for a motorcycle from the dealer today, and left the dealer. The salesman said that he would call me back in a few hours to tell me the status of the application and so on. Well, when he called back he says "you're good to go, let me know when you want to pick up your bike!" I was working at the time, and I missed his call, so I couldn't talk to him, but he left the APR, financing rate, etc stuff over my voice mail. The only form I filled out was the credit form, but when he called back, the APR and financing rates were way too high, and after hearing that, I decided that it isn't worth it to me to buy the bike. Am I obligated in any way? I didn't put a deposit, and I didn't fill out any other paperwork other than the credit application, but he did make a copy of my license and insurance forms. And before I left he had the paperwork filled out with the down payment amount, but because he said that it would take several hours to hear back, he left the APR, loan rate, etc stuff blank and that form was not signed. This is all very confusing to me.
Question #4:
motorcycle starter problems?
I'm looking to buy a used 1982 honda cb650sc Nighthawk, but the electric start doesnt work and the only way to start it is to push start it, and it runs and sounds great. I would just keep looking if the bike wasnt in such good shape with only 5300 miles on it.So anyways my first step is to test the charger with a multimeter to make sure that is the problem. After that I'm not really sure what to do. From everything ive read it could either be the starter, the solenoid, or just a bad connection in the switch. How would I go about testing each one so I can isolate the problem?
If I were to get a new starter from the honda dealer it would be over $200 since its been discontinued, however I can get a used one off ebay for 60$, any opinions on that?
Question #5:
Motorcycle lost title. Bonding it?
I am from Iowa and I want to buy a 2007 600 with 6k mls from a local shop/dealer, here's the story:He bought it from a guy in Arizona, the guy had lost the title and said he'd look for it, he never found it. So now this dealer owns it and I've talked him down to what he paid ($2500) because I know he's in a jam. The bike only needs a few parts, $500 total.
So I talked to the DMV/DOT and they said I just apply for a bond on the bike and then in 6-8wks I get a clear title with it under my name.
Anyone have any experience with this stuff?
Question #6:
Odd noise? Anyone have any ideas?
Yes, I know I can go to a dealer or an automotive repair place and get the answer. Im just curious if anyone has any ideas or a similar situation. My 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee runs perfect and I keep up with routine oil changes and regular maintenance. But, the other day I went out to start it and it was making a funny noise. It sounds like a motorcycle for 3 minutes. After I start driving it the noise will go away. This happens everytime I start the vehicle. No negative comments please. I am a curious wife with a husband that is deployed overseas. Thats all.Question #7:
Which ATV's or motorcycles have interchange parts for a Honda Fat Cat?
The local Honda dealer in my area will not give any info on interchange parts for '86-'87 Honda TR200 Fat Cats. Anyone know which fenders, CDI, and other necessities might work on it? It is a four-stroke, 200cc, auto-clutch, ATV-tire two-wheeled dirt bike.Question #8:
what questions should I ask when buying a motorcycle?
I have never bought one before and don't want to get screwed by the dealer.Question #9:
Motorcycle is lurching and stalling?
I just had an accident while learning on my bike (2009 Ninja 650r). Among other things that I can fix I am having a problem with the bike lurching forward and then stalling out of first gear. I cannot see any leaks of any kind and the bike is brand new (well not anymore unfortunately). There is only 11 miles on the bike and I bought it from a dealer. What could be the issue. The clutch does feel like it is looser than before but from the outside it looks like it is working.I have tried to adjust the clutch at both the lever and down in the right side. The bike is no longer lurching like before but I have to still keep the brake in or the bike begins to roll (with the clutch lever all the way in).
Question #10:
Dealer that stocks parts for older classic Honda motorcycles (NYC CT MA VT)?
Hi all - I have a 1971 Honda CB350 and I'm continually searching for OEM parts for it. I've ordered them online and they come from certain large warehouses or dealerships (I'm not sure where, I think Michigan and CT), and they are also available from my local dealer but you have to wait about a week. Thing is, I routinely drive from NYC to Vermont 84 through CT 91 through MA and VT - just wondering if anybody knows of any Honda dealership or parts warehouse that I'd be able to swing by in person that stocks older parts? It would be oh so convenient to just stop on my way back to VT and pick them up on the spot. Thanks.Question #11:

Politics section….Can you get a car loan while on unemployment?
I have a cousin on unemployment. He doesn’t want a job; he brags why go looking for a job when I am getting paid for nothing. He doesn’t have any income coming in other than monthly unemployment. He just bought a new motorcycle. He bought a pricey bike, and the he said the dealer approved him for a loan. Would a dealer or a bank really approve someone for a loan when the only pay they have is unemployment? He lives at home with mom and dad and uses his money to party. I know the process to get a car loan, I am just amazed he got one with no income. My only answer is, possibly his parents cosigned. I don’t know.
Will, I have a Yamaha R1. I have my own bike. No envy here. Just amazed that my cousin got a bike when he is on unemployment and doesn’t want to work.

Before I go and take the motorcycle class that my local Harley Davidson dealer provides...?
I wanted to get opinions on the success I might have in finding a reasonably priced cruising type of bike as I am 6' 7" and roughly 350 pounds...a big boy for sure. I really don't want to look like Grape Ape riding a bike that is too small. Any suggestions? I have looked through the answers already, and no one who mentions being tall is really this tall. I don't consider folks that are 6' to be tall, so those answers don't seem to apply to me. Would appreciate the help as I have wanted a bike for a long time now and am itching to get one. Thanks allQuestion #17:

2006 CRF 250 or 2007 CRF 450?
2006 CRF 250 all stock, never raced, from a dealer - $3200 + tax = $3650Click Here
Or
2007 CRF 450 - 1st owner raced for 1 year, Then engine was redone and 2nd owner used it recreationaly, I would be 3rd owner, alot of aftermarket parts (Tag Metals Triple Clamp Bars, Hammerhead clutch break levers and shifters, 2 different seats, 2nd set of wheels, jersey, pants, 2 new filters in box, Rad Hose, Boysen Factory Racing engine cover, Tag Metals front and back sprokets....Private $4000 + tax = $4500...an older gentleman (52) owns it now and I would think he didnt even ride it hard but I will definetly check it out anyway.....

Any input on what a better deal is now and long term.
I would be using it on trails and race track...I want some kick and have power if I need it (road friends 250 2 stroke and love it so I think I should go for the 450 4 stroke)
