Question #1:
Which is better on a bicycle, flashing lights (front and rear) or steady lights?
I live and cycle in London - the funny thing is that the TfL hire bikes use flashing red and white lights, but I have also seen police bicycles and they use steady lights... So I'm curious, which is better?I hear that a steady light might confuse drivers and other cyclists who might think you're on a motorbike and therefore misjudge your speed - which can be dangerous...
On the other hand, a flashing light might be quite irritating to other road users...
What do you think?

Question #7:
What do I need (state everything) for full protection on a motorbike?
Hello, I have recently just got a scooter along with my license - I am 16, and my parents are working almost 24/7 - my school is quite far out about an hour away from where I live, so it seems travelling on a scooter now seems inevitable.I am not used to travelling on big roads and motorways per-say, so can you please state everything I need for protection at the most? I know just a helmet won't do if I fall off or something, there are also back protectors, neck protectors (my mum's dad fell off a motorbike whilst wearing a helmet, but his neck snapped and he died), and ankles and everything. So please may you tell me every protection possible and what will be the costs?
And help will be immensely appreciated, thankyou!
Question #8:
What is the best paint to use for a motorbike engine/frame without using a powder coat?
Im after respraying my bike in the near future, I have no problems with the fairing, but Im a little unsure about the frame and engine, Cant really afford to havbe the bike taken to pieces and powder coated, but would cellulose paint take the heat from the engine its self, or would the paint just flake off after a week? Buying torque wrench for tightening motorbike chain?
Up to now I've bodged tightening my chain by using a socket set and tightening it "really hard" because I didn't know any better. But now I know I should be using a torque wrench to get 27Nm and 110Nm and am keen to do it properly for the safety aspect if nothing else. Most torque wrenches do not cover 27-110Nm range, but this Sealey wrench does. It has an accuracy of +/- 4%, is this good enough for the job? Click Here
One socket is 27mm which only comes as 1/2"as far as I can tell, so I was thinking of getting this one: Click Here
And I would get an adaptor so the 1/2" socket can fit the 3/8" torque wrench, e.g. Click Here
So basically I want to know whether this kit is good enough for the job to get up to 110Nm and accurate enough for the sake of tightening the rear wheel spindle nut? And will it also be accurate down to 27Nm?
Or would it be better to buy one 3/8" wrench for low Nm and one 1/2" wrench for high Nm?
Question #12:

Question #15:
What could be the problem with my motorbike?
Usually when I start the bike with the choke off, the idle runs pretty normal. But when I have to use the choke to start the engine, I get really high RPMs (in the region of 5-6000) and it's not the normal high RPM that goes down after a few minutes when the fuel-rich mixture burns out. It is really annoying specially when I sit at the red light revving like a maniac :)) plus i guess it's bad for the engine also. I forgot to mention, it's a '91 Suzuki GS500E.Thanks
The carbs were recently cleaned and syncronized.
I do not ride with the choke on, never. I only leave it on for 10-20 seconds or so, in neutral.

Question #18:
Fractured collar bone?
Hi guys,My boyfriend was involved in a motorbike accident 2 days ago, which lead him to have a fractured collar bone, However, the hospital did not put any plasters on, just gave painkillers.
I was wondering is there any home remedies to use to treat the pain. The painkillers are so strong, makes him sick.
I know ideally he should go to doctor and get the painkillers changed, but that will only happen in a couple of days because of waiting times.
So I was wondering if anyone knows what can help with pain? Cream? Gel?
Question #19:
Why don't more people ride motorbikes?
There are a lot of potential benefits to riding motorycles, they are cheaper to buy, run and insure. They have smaller engines and are more efficient using less petrol and creating fewer emissions. They take up less room on the road and when parked, reducing congestion and freeing up parking space. But despite all this the downsides to motorcycling keep alot of potential riders off the road. What are the strongest reasons and why?Question #20:
do you think I should ride a motorbike with a broken leg?
Ok, I have a broken leg, stuck in a full toes-thigh cast for weeks. My bf has a motorbike which he often used to take me out on. We've tried and I can still fit on it as a pillion passenger even with my leg cast. My friend said there is no way I should ride like that though. Is it illegal or anything? What do you all think?Sue.
P.S. Riding motorbikes has nothing to do with how I broke my leg in the first place!
P.P.S. We only tried with it standing still to see if I could fit on, we haven't actually been anywhere yet.
